Cutting competition

Since 2012, our subsidiary in Slovakia has been regularly inviting trainees from Lippstadt to take part in a competition, the so called "Zerspanerwettbewerb" or machining competition. This competition is organized by vocational schools in Slovakia and also takes place in Slovakia.

What is the procedure of the competition?

A selected group of our trainees flies to Slovakia for this purpose. Both cutting machine operators and industrial mechanics can take part in this competition. The trainees have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the conventional machinery one day before the competition.

On the day of the competition, each participant must produce one milled and one turned workpiece on the basis of a given drawing. The workpieces are not judged on a per participant basis, but as an overall performance of a common institution. The workpiece is evaluated according to the criteria of quality, dimensions and required production time.
