Application tips
Have you already found your desired training and the right location? Now only a small hurdle separates you from the goal of your wishes: A successful application. You can find out what the application process looks like and what you have to consider here:
First of all, of course, we need your application via the online form on our job advertisements. If we are satisfied with your application, we will invite you to take an interview test. If you master this, you will receive an invitation to a personal interview in which we would like to get to know you better. If you do well there as well, an examination by the company doctor will follow, who will check your health suitability. Now all that's missing is your signature under the training contract – and off you go!
So that you can decide the race for one of the training places, you should start early. After all, an application process takes time. Therefore, you should apply before you graduate. You can find out which vacancies are available on our job board more than a year before the start of your training. In order to ensure that we can take your application into account when awarding training places, please submit your application to us by 30 September of the previous year before the start of training. You can see whether we are still carrying out the selection process by looking at whether the training place is still available. You can find all training opportunities on our job board. Important: Allow enough time to prepare your application carefully.
The first time is, as so often, the most difficult. Your application documents should be complete. Easier said than done? It's very simple: Start with an informative covering letter in which you briefly introduce yourself and explain to us why it should be this particular job in our company. Please enclose a tabular CV (contact data, school education, training and internship records) showing us who you are, what you have already learnt and a copy of your last two school reports.
Don't worry about it. Applying for a training job is not the same thing as for an executive position. We also know that this is your first application. Nonetheless, unclean documents, frequent spelling mistakes or missing information are real drawbacks. Let parents or experienced friends help you. Two heads are always better than one.
In principle, a digital application is no different from the printed version. Send us the covering letter with a meaningful subject line using the online form and attach your CV. Make sure that you name the files correctly – for example "CV_YourName.doc ". Important note: Even if your application is sent "only" digitally, it requires just as much care as a letter. Smileys, *lol* and bad spelling are not a good tone. You should also attach the documents in standard formats. We prefer compressed PDF files.
Firstly: Stay calm and don't misrepresent yourself! Clothing and punctuality are also very important. The first impression that our staff members get from you is often decisive. There is no way around proper clothing. But you should still feel comfortable in it, otherwise you don't seem authentic. The clothes should not look too casual or too styled. Punctuality and appearance signal to us that you are motivated and take the meeting seriously. Secondly: Get some information about your dream job: For example, on our websites or the website of the Employment Agency. There you can even take a practice hiring test online.
Your training starts with the "Welcome to thyssenkrupp rothe erde Germany GmbH", where we introduce you to our company, your instructors and your colleagues. In addition, we will provide you with all the important information about training.
