Ball bearings are rolling bearings whose rolling elements consist of balls. They are characterized by their versatility and reliability. Our rothe erde® ball slewing rings are available in a wide range of designs.
Due to their simple yet robust design, ball bearings offer an economically optimal bearing solution. The robust design is relatively insensitive to deviations in the adjacent construction. They are designed for high rotational speeds and tilting moments and fix the axles or shafts in the application. In doing so, they take up radial and/or axial forces so that rotation is as low-friction as possible.
rothe erde® ball bearing slewing rings are used in a wide range of applications and can therefore be found in almost all industrial sectors: from an excavator and crane construction to vehicle technology and general mechanical engineering.
A ball bearing consists of two rings, an inner ring and an outer ring, between which the spherical rolling elements provide rotation and reduce rolling friction during rotation. The bearings are designed so that the balls barely touch the raceway surface, so that rolling resistance is reduced to a minimum. The balls can be arranged in either single or double rows.
Depending on requirements, Rothe Erde manufactures ball bearings in various designs:
with internal and/or external gear or without gearing
most common materials
geometry adapted to load situation and/or customer specifications
various hardening processes, including our patented full-surface hardening process without slippage
