Dortmund/Cannes. Rothe Erde was awarded the internationally renowned “Silver Dolphin” in the Brand Image Videos category for its image movie in Cannes on Thursday. The award ceremony took place as part of the “Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards”, one of the world's most important festivals for corporate films. The “Silver Dolphin” is the highest award presented in this category that evening.
The award-winning Rothe Erde image movie focuses on Rothe Erde's innovative strength and diverse, sustainable solutions. “At the same time, we deliberately break with traditional industrial representations in the film by highlighting the contrast between the technically precise rotation of our slewing bearings and the emotionally delicate movements of figure skaters,” explains Jana van Ratingen, Head of Marketing & Communication at Rothe Erde. The reigning German champions in ice dancing Jennifer Janse van Rensburg and Benjamin Steffan appear in the movie as the ice dancing couple. “The movie impressively shows how our products and technologies are helping to shape the world of tomorrow in a sustainable way,” says Jana van Ratingen.
Jury with Oscar and Emmy winners
This year's festival received almost 800 submissions from more than 45 countries worldwide. All submitted productions were carefully evaluated and screened by the jury, 149 were awarded the popular Dolphin trophies. The jury of Oscar and Emmy winners, filmmakers as well as marketing and communications experts were impressed by the quality of the submissions and the result shows a selection of winners that is second to none.
Innovative presentation instead of technical presentation
The movie was produced by the Dortmund-based production company FYNAL. The movie was produced in eleven locations in five countries over a total of 13 shooting days and shows examples of applications such as wind turbines in Sweden, a flight simulator in Austria and radio telescopes in the French Alps. “It was incredibly exciting for us to see how well the idea of an innovative and metaphorical representation instead of a technical presentation worked in the realization,” says Jacek Kubaczynski, director at FYNAL.

The ‘Silver Dolphin’ is a confirmation and an award for the hard work and commitment of all our 6,000 employees worldwide who give their best every day,” says Rothe Erde CEO Winfried Schulte. “It motivates us to continue developing innovative and sustainable solutions that have a positive impact on our society and the environment.”
